ForMin Diaconescu to pay official visit to China
The Foreign Affairs minister Cristian Diaconescu will pay over September 7 -10 an official visit to China, at the invitation of his counterpart Yang Jiechi, on Thursday said the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s spokesman Alin Serbanescu.
The visit was announced by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the People’s Republic of China as well, according to the Xinhua news agency.
In the past years, visits and contacts at the highest level took place between Romania and China, thus maintaining an active political dialogue, connected to the national agendas’ priorities and dedicated to the systematic updating of the bilateral programmes of exchanges and cooperation.
Romania’s president visited China in 1991, 1994, 1997, 2003 and 2006, and the Chinese head of state visited Romania in 1996 and 2004, when the Joint Declaration of Romania and the People’s Republic of China regarding the establishment of a vast friendship and cooperation partnership was signed.
