PM Boc commends Renault-Dacia for its contribution to the development of Romania’s automotive industry

Prime Minister Emil Boc on Tuesday welcomed Renault- Dacia COO Patrick Pelata, at the Victoria Government Palace to indicate the Government’s readiness to assist automotive makers in order to boost the local automotive industry.

According to a press release of the Government’s Press Office, Boc commended Renault- Dacia for its contribution to the development of the Romanian automobile industry.

In the same context, the prime minister underscored that the Government will assume responsibility before Parliament for extending the Rabla car scrappage programme to boost the automobile industry and renew the car fleet.
At the same time, the Government intends to continue the car fleet renewal programme into 2010.

The release mentions that Pelata thanked for the assistance granted by the Romanian Government to the local automobile industry, particularly through the car scrappage programme, and highlighted the prospects for future development of Renault in Romania.
Also attending the meeting on behalf of the Romanian Government was Economy Minister Adriean Videanu.

Also representing Renault-Dacia were Renault Romanian CEO Francois Fourmont; Renault Technologies CEO Philip PreveĘ Dacia Deputy Chairman Constantin Stroe, and Renault Euromed Director Jacques Chauvet.
