Romanian grabs 3 gold medals at the World High Speed Telegraphy Championships

Romania grabbed 27 medals at the 7th edition of the World High Speed Telegraphy Championships held in Bulgaria over September 11-15, among which 3 gold medals, 5 silver, 16 bronze and 3 honorific bronze medals.

The Romanian team, coached by Gheorghe Paisa, won 23 medals in the individual competitions, 3 in the all-around event (which was only honorific) and 1 in the final team rankings.

Janeta Manea (CSTA Bucharest), Ionut Petre Chiriac (CSTA Bucharest) and Gabriela Ivan took the gold medals. The old Romania’s record was 21 medals, hit at the previous edition of the Championships.

The Romanian team ranked 3rd in the end of competition, obtaining the bronze medal. There participated in this year’s edition of the Championships 15 countries of three continents. Romania had a delegation made up of 16 participants and 2 referees.
