Council Coordinating Russian Diaspora at Parliament Palace

The Council Coordinating the Russian Diaspora first convened in Romania on Thursday at the Parliament Palace in order to prepare the World Congress of the Russian Diaspora to be held in Moscow on December 1.

The talks on this subject will continue on Friday and Saturday in Tulcea (south-eastern Romania).
The Council Coordinating the Russian Diaspora was organized in Romania at the suggestion of Miron Ignat, a deputy representing the community of the Lippovan Russians.

According to an estimate, the Russian diaspora is the second largest one in the world and is represented by about 35 million Russians living outside Russia. In Romania the number of Lippovan Russians is about 40 thousand and accounts for 0.17 percent of the whole population.
