Romanian-Turkmen energy working group to start business

State secretary with the Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) Doru Costea has met Chairman of the Turkmenistan Parliament Akdja Nurberdyeva to discuss the need for the Romanian-Turkmen joint working group on energy to start business, as the composition of the Romanian party is already set.

At their meeting, the two officials highlighted new opportunities for cooperation in fields such as agriculture, infrastructure, industrial engineering, civil engineering and tourism, MAE reports in a press release issued on Thursday.

Costea and Nurberdyeva underscored the excellent bilateral cooperation between Romania and Turkmenistan in the area of education and voiced support for its furthering to include direct contacts between higher education institutions and the possibility of opening a Romanian university lecturer’s office in Ashgabat.

The chair of the Turkmen Parliament visited Romania, September 15-17, as head of a Turkmen parliamentary delegation, at the invitation of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies.
