Laws on education and on some public institutions reorganization, adopted

The national education law draft and the one on reorganization of some authorities and public institutions, curbing public spending, support for business environment and observance of framework agreements with the European Commission (EC) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), for which the Government assumed responsibility in Parliament, are considered adopted the deadline having been met till the tabling of a censure motion, announced on Monday Democrat Liberal deputy Ioan Oltean, who presided the meeting of the Chamber of Deputies.

The Government assumed on Sept. 15 its responsibility in front of the Parliament on a package of three laws – on education, on the public sector unitary wage and on the streamlining of subordinated agencies, public spending curb, support for business environment and observance of the agreements with IMF and EC.

As well, the Executive stated it was ready, through a commission also including representatives of trade union confederations, to come up with proposals of improvement and simplification of annexes to the public sector unitary wage law in the upcoming 9 months.

Despite that, representatives of the National Liberal Party (PNL, in opposition) initiated last Thursday a censure motion on the public sector unitary wage law, to which the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR, in opposition) subsequently rallied.
