State secretary Natalia Intotero talks with Italian TV manager about backing Romanian media in Peninsula

State secretary for inter-institutional relations with MAE Natalia Intotero has paid a working visit to Italy, occasion for attending a series of cultural events organized by the Romanian associative milieu in Grosseto region and in the city of Bari, a release remitted on Monday informs.

The Romanian dignitary attended on Friday and Saturday the cultural event run under the theme „Multi-ethnic Italy. Romanian community days. Integration and living together with Grosseto community”.

In this context discussions were held with President of Grosseto region Leonardo Marras and with mayor of Grosseto Emilio Bonifazi focused on the aid given by the Italian local authorities to easing the Romanian citizens’ integration in the Italian society and to the preservation of their own national identity.

As well, Intotero had a meeting with the manager of Teletirrento TV channel in Crosseto Giancarlo Capecchi during which the topic of support and development of mass media in Romanian language in the Italian audio-visual space was approached and discussions were carried out with the leadership of Romanian Association „Hora Unirii” from Grosseto.

On the occasion of the visit paid to Bari the Romanian official met with representatives of the Romanian associations „Suflet Romanesc” and Dacia Nicolaiana” and took part on Sunday in the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the Orthodox Parochial Complex, to be formed of „Sf.Ierarh Nicolae” church, a cultural center, a library and a conference hall.

The Romanian Orthodox Parochial Complex is going to be built on a plot of land on lease for a 50-year period, with prolongation rights, made available by the Italian regional authorities.
