Mircea Geoana drew attention that if Romania was late with the proposal, as it happened with the previous nomination, „it will pick out a marginal portfolio again”.
„Eventually, it is not my decision, it is a decision to be taken these days. We should be prepared for any variant. If we get the Agriculture portfolio, that will be good for Romania.
But, we should be prepared for „variant B” – an interesting portfolio, where other names could qualify”, the PSD head specified for the public television.
He added that, if Romania didn’t get the Agriculture position, „the game will stay open”.
„And, I make an appeal to all the political parties to have two-three candidacies and go there with the best portfolio and the best commissioner”, Geoan[ added. According to the PSD leader, the nomination of a woman would have been an extra chance to getting a good portfolio.
