„It is a first in Romania after 1990, when we organize such an event. It is the most important European forum on environment. Romania needed such an event. (…) Now we go to Bucharest to do our lessons”, said the Environment Minister.
The event which reunites more than 200 representatives of the environment institutions in Europe, is organized by the European Commission (EC) and the Environment Guard with support from the European network of institutions with prerogatives of implementation and control in the field of environment protection – IMPEL and is to benefit of the presence of some EC officials and of the environment ministries from all the EU countries.
The main goals pursued by this conference are connected to a more efficient implementation of the European legislation in environment field and its harmonization with the member states, as well as the promotion of some better rules in this sector.
At the same time, during the three-day conference results of the projects promoted through the IMPEL network are to be examined, the spread of good practices in the field of implementation of the environment legislation, as well as the strengthening of cooperation and promotion of the network nationwide and regionally.
Last but not least the forum will also include a section dedicated to finding out some new topics to be debated in the environment protection field.
Romania assumed the organization of this conference because environment protection and identification of action fields in the international context represent priorities for Bucharest authorities.
