Predoiu signs proposal on Kovesi’s re-appointment as prosecutor general
According to the same source, the proposal will be submitted to the Supreme Council of Magistrates in the same day.
According to the procedure, the appointment of the prosecutor general is made by Romania’s president at the proposal of the justice minister with the approval of the Supreme Council of Magistrates.
In line with the legal provisions, the term-in-office of the prosecutor general is of three years and may be renewed a single time.
Laura Codruta Kovesi was appointed prosecutor general of the High Court of Cassation and Justice, on October 2, 2006 by decree signed by President Traian Basescu.
