‘We have information that the High Court of Cassation and Justice decided to send judges to participate in the draw for the make up of the Central Electoral Bureau and Constituencies. From the Justice’s viewpoint, the presidential elections this autumn will be carried out safely,’ Dan Nica said.
The judges from the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ) on Wednesday decided at the General Assembly to participate in the draw for the make up of the Central Electoral Bureau, according to a release of the institution.
The judges decided to participate in the draw while reiterating that their protests in the latest weeks ‘had nothing to do with the political, as some people are trying to suggest.’
According to the ICCJ release, the protests were determined strictly ‘by the dissatisfactions related to the conditions in which the judges had to carry out their work every day.’
The supreme body also specified that ‘the judges from the High Court of Cassation and Justice wanted to settle clear the boundaries between them and any attempt to attract magistrates in the political and electoral games.’
