According to tradition, the bell-founders conference in Europe is organized in Maramures (northern region) because the president of this association is the owner of a bell foundry in Satulung community.
Radu Blotor, president of the association and manager of a bell foundry in Satulung, decided to bring the event to Baia Mare in order to promote Maramures tourist zone, as well as for an exchange of experience in this field.
During their three-day stay in Maramures the guests from the country and from abroad are to assist to a bell moulding operation at the company headquarters in Satulung and will carry out a series of talks on professional issues and the latest used technologies in the process of bell moulding.
The bell moulding masters will also visit Stephen’s Tower, located in the medieval zone of Baia Mare town, which according to historians dates back to the 13th century.
As well, participants in this event will visit the church in Budesti, Barsana Monastery, the Merry Cemetery in Sapanta, the Memorial of Communism and Resistance Victims in Sighetu Marmatiei, Rohia Monastery, as well as the wood church in Surdesti.
