Regional seminar on financial stability

The Romanian National Bank (BNR) on September 24-25 organized in Sinaia (central-south) a regional seminar on financial stability, with experts from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) participating.

The objective of the seminar titled ‘Challenges brought by the global financial crisis in the emergent economies’ was to offer participants a framework for discussions referring to the most recent trends and evolutions in the field of financial stability, in the same time occasioning an exchange of experience related to the practical activity in this field in the participating countries.

The same as in the previous years, together with experts from the IMF and BNR, there participated representatives of the European central banks, as well as specialists from such Romanian institutions who are related to this field: CNVM, CSSPP, FGDB, CSA, reads a BNR release.

Moreover, in the context of the current economic crisis, there was carried out the second meeting of the Vice-Governors – or of their representatives – coordinating the field of financial stability in the Central and Eastern European states members of the European Union, with the participants this year coming from the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania. The meeting focused on the financial stability in the respective countries.
