ForMin Diaconescu: Romania thinks EU- Russia relation must be consistent and realistic
According to the Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) release, Romania’s top diplomat stressed that the European policies towards to the Eastern neighboring countries must be seen contingent on the benefits they can bring, and which are in the interest of both the EU and Russia.
Also in sideline with the UN General Assembly session, ForMin Diaconescu participated in the ministerial meting of the Organization for the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (OBSEC), which was a working lunch hosted by his Azeri counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov, in his position as OBSEC chairman-in-office.
On this special occasion, ForMin Diaconescu reiterated Romania’s firm commitment to the cooperation among the Black Sea countries, emphasizing the requirement to capitalizing all the regional cooperation instruments.
Romania’s top diplomat stressed that the invigoration of the OBSEC activity requires successful projects, encouraging the existing initiatives in the development of the regional infrastructure and in the cooperation with the EU, through the Black Sea Synergy.
Also attending the event were officials of all the member countries, and it is traditional already, they should meet in New York, every year, in side line with the opening of the works of the UN General Assembly.
