IRSOP: Romania sees significant growth of intention to invest in improvement of living conditions

The intention of investing in the improvement of the living conditions grew significantly in Romania according to a study made by the Romanian Institute for Polls and Public Opinion (IRSOP).

In 2008, 72 percent of the population wanted to invest in this respect and in 2009 this percentage grew to 85 percent. The Romanian Commercial Bank, the bank for housing, plans to conclude 40,000 contracts on savings and loans by the end of this year.

A total stock of 130,000 contracts is to be made, with a value amounting to 2.8 billion lei, informed representatives of the bank. IRSOP managing director Petre Datculescu on Tuesday presented a national study on the saving-lending system, which was made over July-August 2009.
