‘Eight U.S. military started fencing the school, three weeks ago, and they hope the works are done by the end of the year,’ said Sarichioi village’s mayor Vitali Finoghen.
He added that the U.S troops had been providing healthcare assistance to over 700 locals so far. ‘They were given consultations by ophthalmologists, dentists, GPs and the whole support we were offered was very important to us. In the context, we expressed the desire to continue the cooperation with the U.S. military,’ the local mayor pointed out.
The U.S. Ambassador to Romania and his wife were visiting the Cristian care centre in Tulcea town, which is to be refurbished with the financial support by the National Guard of Alabama State. The cooperation ties between the Tulcea authorities and the U.S. side go back a long time and the U.S. military make annual donations worth over 100,000 USD to the county’s locals through the agency of the Public Health Authority.
