‘As the PNL president, I closed an agreement with our old and historic partner PNTCD some time ago. The more so we hail today this document of reconciliation between the PNTCD and PSD, we salute its spirit and I’d like to underscore that this means pluralism’, Antone scu said in the western Timisoara city. PNTCD leader Radu Sarbu announced on Tuesday the signing of an agreement between his party and the Social Democrats, which he said is a step forward to bringing solidarity among the Romanians.
Social Democratic chairman Mircea Geoana, PNL leader Crin Antonescu, Sibiu mayor Klaus Johannis and Timisoara mayor Gheorghe Ciuhandu signed the Partnership for Timisoara on Tuesday.
Also attending the event were leading politicians and figures such as Ilie Sarbu, Liviu Dragnea, Marian Sarbu, Ion Bazac, Cristian Diaconescu, Ecaterina Andronescu, Mihaela Geoana, Ovidiu Branzan, Radu Stroe, Lavinia Sandru and Mircea Dinescu. Ciuhandu, by this political move, openly voices support for the promotion of the Liberals’ project of backing Johannis for Romania’s prime minister and Geoana’s candidacy in the presidential runoff vote.
