‘After December 6 we end political rows. After December 6 we begin building together. This team is not brought together by circumstances. We are all people who deeply believe in the Western-type democratic values, we are here people with different ideological sensibilities, but we are first and foremost people who know the national interest of this country.
I’ll back up Mr. (Klaus) Johannis to be the prime minister Romania needs’, Geoana said before signing the document. Geoana together with National Liberal Party (PNL) leader Crin Antonescu, Sibiu mayor Klaus Johannis and Timisoara mayor Gheorghe Ciuhandu signed the Partnership for Timisoara on Tuesday.
Also attending the event were leading politicians and figures such as Ilie Sarbu, Liviu Dragnea, Marian Sarbu, Ion Bazac, Cristian Diaconescu, Ecaterina Andronescu, Mihaela Geoana, Ovidiu Branzan, Radu Stroe, Lavinia Sandru and Mircea Dinescu. Ciuhandu, by this political move, openly voices support for the promotion of the Liberals’ project of backing Johannis for Romania’s prime minister and Geoana’s candidacy in the presidential runoff vote.
