PM Emil Boc lays flower wreath at Mihai Viteazul Monument, in Alba Iulia

On behalf of the Government, incumbent Premier Emil Boc accompanied by Minister of Transport Radu Berceanu laid a flower wreath, on Tuesday, at the equestrian statue of the ruler Mihai Viteazul, in Alba Iulia (center), ceremony attended by almost 1,000 people.

While the Heros Anthem was played, wreaths of flowers were laid on behalf of the Presidency, Senate, Chamber of Deputies, Alba Prefecture, Alba County Council, Romanian Intelligence Service, as well as on behalf of some devolved services and political parties.

Ruler Mihai Viteazul (in command from 1593 through 1601) succeeded to forge the Unification of the three Romanian principalities for a short time in 1600. This year, 91 years are celebrated since Transylvania united with Romania and since the Great Assembly gathered on the Romans Esplanade in Alba Iulia, on December 1, 1918.
