Exhibition to show Romania UNESCO heritage, in Madrid

The exhibition called Romania UNESCO Heritage, consisting of seven albums published by the ARTEC Publishing House in Segovia, Spain, subsidized by the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) and eight billboards showing large and illustrative pictures of each Romania UNESCO monument will open, in Madrid, late on Friday.

According to the Madrid-based ICR, the exhibition is shown at Romania’s stand, our country being invited to attend the INTEGRA 2009 Fair, due in Spain’s capital city, on Dec. 4-8.

Ioana Zlotescu Simatu coordinated the authors, and the seven albums are the following: The Danube Delta. Radu Anton Roman, republished by Catalin C. Constantin, the Historical Center of Sighisoara – by Ioana Parvulescu, Wooden Churches of Maramures by Teodor Baconsky, Fortified Churches and localities of Transylvania by Emil Hurezeanu, The Horezu Monastery by Bogdan Tataru Cazaban, the Monasteries of Bukovina by Neagu Djuvara and Ancient Dacian citadels of Orastie Mountains by Simona Sora, the institute announced.

The launch is part of a range of events organized by the Madrid-based ICR in the Spanish capital and neighboring towns over Nov. 27-Dec. 9, to mark Romania’s National Day and 20 years since the fall of the communism.
