The event will be attended by Foreign ministers and high representatives of thirteen countries in the region, as well as from Spain, Turkey, Switzerland and Sweden, the country holding the half- year presidency of the European Union.
The speech of the secretary of state Bogdan Mazuru will focus on presenting Romania’s own experience of multi-dimensional cooperation at regional and European level. He will present the national pattern of cohabitation, tolerance and participation of the ethnic and professional minorities in Romania.
The Romanian delegation will include diplomats as well as representatives of the civil society, members of the Group of experts for the enforcement of the National Plan of the Alliance of Civilizations in Romania.
The Alliance of Civilizations encourages the set up of some partnership networks with representatives of the civil society. A working Group is made at national level to enforce the National Plan of the Alliance of Civilizations in Romania, launched in April 2009, which includes professors and chairmen of foundations and NGOs. Various national NGOs expressed their interest to supporting the projects included in the National Action Plan for AoC.
