The industrial production went down in all EU member states for which data are available, except for Ireland (0.2 percent) and Poland (1.1 percent). According to the data supplied by the National Institute of Statistics, the entire industrial production went down by 7.9 percent in the first ten months of 2009, a decrease that was brought about by the decreases in the extractive industry and the processing industry.
The industrial production, adjusted depending on the number of working days and seasonableness, dropped by 7.8 percent as against the same time span last year because of the cuts in the extractive and processing industries. In October 2009 both the entire production and the adjusted that was adjusted depending on the number of working days and seasonableness grew from the previous month by 3.6 percent and 0.2 percent respectively.
When compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, both the entire industrial production and the one that was adjusted depending on the number of working days and seasonableness dropped by 2.7 percent and 1.5 percent respectively.
