Social Democrats, Liberals meet Tuesday evening

The Social Democrat (PSD) and Liberal (PNL) leaders meet at the Palace of Parliament Tuesday evening in order to establish the ways for setting up a parliamentary majority that should back a government.

PSD chairman Mircea Geoana said before the meeting that his party stands by its promise to the voters that it would try to reach political stability for the setting up of a parliamentary majority. ‘We’ve been through such experience before’, Geoana said.

National Liberal leader Crin Antonescu reiterated the PNL will not go to talks with other parties so that ‘that party should offer something’; a parliamentary majority can only be set up through the understanding between two or among several parliamentary groupings, he stressed.
