Boc: I had graceful discussion with Antonescu; I’ll propose smaller gov’t than we had with PSD

Democratic Liberal (PD-L) leader Emil Boc, who has been designated for prime minister, said on Thursday he had a ‘graceful’ phone conversation with National Liberal Party (PNL) leader Crin Antonescu, who told him the Liberals will not take part in government.

‘I called Crin Antonescu over the phone and we had a graceful discussion, he told me he will not take part in governance and therefore the future government is based on the PD-L, with the participation of the UDMR (Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania), the national minorities’ group and the independents’ group’, Boc said.
The prime minister designate announced he plans to propose all the partners a government with a smaller number of ministries than the one the PD-L had with the Social Democrats (PSD). Boc said he could give no further details of the number of ministries or proposed ministers since they are still being negotiated.
