Gabriel Sandu, validated Minister of Communications

Gabriel Sandu on Tuesday obtained the validation of the specialized committees of the Parliament, following to take over the Ministry of Communications and Information Society (MCSI), in the new formula of the government proposed by Prime Minister Emil Boc.

Sandu obtained from the Senators and Deputies 17 votes ‘for’ and 1 ‘against’. Participating in the voting there were 18 members of the two committees, from a total of 25 existing.
Sandu acted as Minister of Communications and Interior till October 1, 2009, when the Social-Democrat Ministers resigned from the coalition government with PD-L, following Dan Nica having been sacked from Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Administration and Interior.

Subsequently, on October 2, 2009, the Democrat Liberals have taken over the ministerial prerogatives as interims, for 45 days, with Gabriel Sandu having acted as interim Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Trade and Business Environment, in the government headed by Emil Boc.
