‘I think the outside partners will continue to back Romania and in 2011 we’ll get an improved credit rating, I hope in 2010 even’, Vladescu stressed. He pointed out there is the possibility for more flexible discussions with the international partners amid the IMF agreement, namely on various development projects, including those based on the drawing of European funds.
The salary policy will have to be extremely restrictive for three years, Vladescu stressed. The proposed minister said the salary policy ‘will have to be compensated by measures meant to protect the low- and very low income earners’. Romania is seeing a ‘sensitive’ time in terms of the economy, Vladescu said, adding the 2010 budget is also in a ‘delicate’ situation.
