A pair of gloves, which the Romanian boxer Lucian Bute used when training, were sold for 3,000 dollars during a charity event meant to raise the funds necessary for building a hospital in Haiti, a country that was devastated by an earthquake, informs the Canadian press.

The charity event was organized by Henby Whyne, president of a Canadian agency taking sports photographs, in Montreal. Some of the items that were put up for auction were the gloves of the most beloved boxers in Canada, Lucian Bute, the IBF super middleweight champion, and Jean Pascal, the WBC light heavyweight champion. Lucian Bute’s training gloves were bought for 3,000 dollars and Pascal’s autographed ones, for 2,000 dollars.
