MFP sells Gov’t discount bonds worth nearly 100 million euros

The Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) raised RON 399.984 million on Monday, by a Government discount bond issue, tendered through the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

The Government bonds mature in six months and the issue was awarded at an average yield of 7.78 percent. Average weighted level of the discount rate was 7.49 percent.
The total value of the issue was 400 million euros and the total demand on the part of the 13 banks taking part in the tender was RON 1.821 billion. (1 euro= RON 4.08)

Thirteen primary dealers submitted bids for buying Government bonds – Alpha Bank Romania, BRD-Groupe Societe Generale, Banca Comerciala Carpatica (BCC), Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), Banca Transilvania, Bancpost, CEC Bank, Citibank Romania, ING, MKB Romexterra, Raiffeisen Bank, RBS Bank Romania and UniCredit Tiriac Bank. MFP has planned February tenders for discount treasury certificates worth RON 2 billion.
