AEP proposes date for College 19 election, following Parliament notification

The Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) will make a proposal to the Romanian Government regarding the date of organizing the partial parliamentary election for College 19 in Bucharest, which was won in 2009 by Daniela Popa, after Parliament notifies AEP on the deputy mandate vacancy, following the resignation of the former Conservative Party (PC) leader.

Marian Muhulet, AEP vice-chairman, told on Tuesday that the date would be established in 90 days since the Authority notification, through a legislative official letter.
The decision on the resignation of Daniela Popa, former PC chairperson, from the deputy position, was published in the Official Gazette on Tuesday.
Daniela Popa resigned from the deputy position and from the Conservative Party as she chose to become a member of the Insurance Supervisory Commission Board. As a result, a partial parliamentary election is to be held in College 19 Bucharest in order to fill the vacant deputy position.
