President signs Baconschi’s recall from ambassador
Baconschi took over the Foreign Affairs portfolio in December 2009, after having fulfilled, over time, the positions of Romania’s ambassador to the Holy See, general director within the Foreign Affairs Ministry, secretary general for global affairs, presidential adviser within the Department for the Relation with Public Authorities and with Civil Society and Romania’s ambassador to Paris.
According to a diplomatic source, diplomat Bogdan Mazuru could be proposed for Romania’s ambassador to Paris. Mazuru is an European affairs secretary of state within the Foreign Ministry. He has been working at the ministry since 1991, when he started his activity within the Political Planning Division.
