Teodor Baconschi presents Romania’s interests in the Arab world to League of Arab States Ambassadors
Baconschi and the ambassadors tried to identify specific cooperation projects, focusing mostly on the economic and cultural fields. They have examined the possibility of organising this autumn in Bucharest a business forum with the states taking part in the Gulf Cooperation Council and of creating bilateral or sub-regional consultative groups. The setting up of an Arab Cultural Institute was proposed, as well.
Baconschi brought to the foreign diplomats’ attention Romania’s short and medium-term interests related to the Arab world, in general, and related to the counterparts within the League of Arab States, in particular, reports MAE.
Minister Baconschi highlighted Romania’s calling as a player with a vision within the multilateral forums and organisations, at the same time, sending an invitation to the partners in the Arab world to capitalise on our country’s good standing in order to deepen interregional and bilateral cooperation.
