Yellow code alert of snows expected to fall Saturday to Monday

The National Meteorology Administration on Friday issued a yellow code alert of snowfalls in Romania from Saturday at noon till 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 8.
The weather forecaster said there will be snowy weather in Banat (western Romania) and Oltenia, in the south at first and then in the regions of Muntenia, Dobrogea and southern Moldavia (mostly in southern and southeastern Romania).

These regions will see wintry showers and raw winds blowing at up to 75-80 kmph. The heavy snowfalls will locally blanket the areas in rather deep snow, while in the Southern Carpathians there will be gusts of wind at more than 100 kmph, the national forecaster announced.
