On this occasion, the two officials expressed their wish to continue the assistance granted by the Swiss Government to the Romanian health care system, as main cooperation theme within the Swiss Solidarity Project for the new EU member states. The framework agreement between the two governments is likely to be signed by mid-2010, a release informs.
Hurzeler said that the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation has some 7 million euros aimed at projects for the development of the emergency medical services system. The projects will focus on the primary care and in-hospital staff training regarding the emergency medical care, as well as personnel providing emergency medical services by helicopters.
In his turn, the Health Minister stated that the bilateral programmes concluded with the Swiss Agency to day have been a real success. The minister said he was confident the new projects would help improving the health care system as well.
