Romania’s Consul in Sofia Marius Dilof went to the car crash site, which 5 Romanian citizens had been killed in, while driving on the road linking Bulgaria’s capital city and Samokov, a major tourism center in southwestern Bulgaria, on Friday.

The Romanian diplomat has been cooperating with the Bulgarian authorities to find out the personal data of the five Romanian victims, the crash’s causes and to offer consular assistance in the limits of his competence, the Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) spokesman Lucian Rosenfeld told.
Five Romanian citizens died in a car accident on the road linking Sofia and Samokov, ten km far and nearby Borovets resort, on Friday, at 8:25 a.m.

A Romanian-registered car frontally crashed against a Bulgarian-registered long vehicle, Samokov-based Police Inspectorate official told, but he could supply no data either about the ages of the victims or about which of the two drivers involved in the crash was to be blamed for the mishap.
