MJ Maillis reports losses in excess of 67.8 pct in 2009

Plastic packaging producer for food industry MJ Maillis reported losses of 12.54 million lei in 2009, a jump of 67.8 percent from 2008, when they amounted at 7.48 million lei, according to financial reports conveyed to Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). (1 euro trades for 4.1 lei).

Net turnover declined by more than half, from 66.22 million lei to 29.5 million lei, whereas total earnings dropped by half, from 67.8 million lei to 34.47 million lei and spending by 38 percent, from 75.24 million lei to 47.02 million lei.
MJ Maillis Greece holds 81.67 percent of the Romanian company stock, the remainder being in other shareholders possession.

The company was set up in Dec. 1994 under the name of Balkan Pack SRL. In 2000 the limited liability company was changed into SC MJ Maillis Romania – a share company, with an underwritten share capital of 10.431 million lei.
Plastic packaging producer for food industry is listed on Bucharest Stock Exchange tier 2.
