As many as 6,000 Romanian companies supend business in January

The National Trade Register Office (ONRC) in January recorded as many as 6,000 cases of suspension nationwide, up 341.83 percent compared with January 2009, when there were recorded 1,358 such cases of suspension, reads a release of ONRC.

As regards voluntary dissolutions in January 2010, there were recorded 829 cases, representing an increase by 136.18 percent compared to January 2009, when there were 351 voluntary dissolutions recorded throughout the country. Voluntary cessations of business increased by 7 percent from 2,975 nationwide on January 31, 2009, to 3,177, on January 31, 2010.

There were registered with the ONRC 7,403 new companies in January 2010, compared with 9,612 in January 2009. Most of these registrations, 1,444, were registered in Bucharest, almost the same as in 2009, when there were 1,612 new companies registered in the Romanian capital. Limited liability companies (LLC) in January 2010 represented the highest number in total registrations of new entities, 3,766, almost the same as in January 2009, when the ONRC registered 5,170 LLC’s.
