CES representatives are invited to permanent commissions of Chamber of Deputies

The Economic and Social Council (CES) representatives will be invited to participate in the sessions of the permanent commissions, according to the decision made on Monday by the Chamber of Deputies after the meeting with the CES executive bureau.

Secretary of the Chamber of Deputies Dumitru Pardau underlined that this decision was made for a better cooperation with CES. “It is obvious that we aim at a better cooperation, a better communication with CES and to this respect, all the specialist commissions and their chairmen will be notified in order to also invite the CES representatives to the debates on the draft laws,” said Pardau.

At the same time, he underlined that this cooperation would be made easier through meetings between CES representatives and the permanent commissions’ management boards.
The members of the standing bureau of the Chamber of Deputies on Monday met the CES representatives after the Council, in a letter, had requested a meeting with the management board of this legislative forum.

CES sent a letter in January to the management of the Chamber of Deputies, requesting a meeting in order to discuss “the concrete means of improving the cooperation with the standing bureau and with the commissions of the Chamber of Deputies, so that the Council may properly exercise its role and tasks provided by the Constitution and by Law 109/2007 on the organization and operation of CES.”
