Dacia sales up in Europe

Romanian Dacia car makers sold 17,254 cars in Europe, in Jan. 2010, by 69.78 percent more compared to the same time span in 2009, with 10,166 Dacia cars had been sold, whereas the market quota of the Romanian car maker went up to 1.6 from 1.1 percent, say the statistical data supplied by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).

The ACEA statistics have in view the car markets of 28 European counties – 25 EU members (except Cyprus and Malta) and three EFTA countries, namely Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.

The Renault Group’s car sales totaled 115,655 units, on the 28 markets, in Jan 2010, by 60 percent more compared to the same time span in 2009 when the Group sold 72,295 cars. The US Ford Group sold about 95,519 cars on the markets of the 28 European states, by 4.8 percent more than 90,223 cars, during the same period in 2009.
