Organisers are out to attract as many tourists as possible to the Bucegi Plateau, Cota 2,000, for a spectacle of extreme sports. ‘The Cota 2,000-Dorului Valley provides excellent opportunities for free ride and extreme skiing. The abundance of snow and the magnificent landscape will surely please the participants,’ says Sinaia Mayor Vlad Oprea, who has been into free ride for two years.
The festival includes contests and demos of paragliding, snow-kite and speed-fly. Special guests from among the world’s most famous athletes will be there to impress the public with their performance and guarantee a successful festival. Free training sessions and enrollment for the contests started today. On Wednesday, after an opening briefing at the Miorita Cabin, the snow-kite and speed-fly contests will be officially opened.
Video projections will be performed throughout the week and mountain climber Ulise Galu will present his expeditions to Alaska and the Himalayas. A photo exhibition of spectacular pictures taken at the previous two editions of the festival will be mounted on Saturday, when the award ceremony is also scheduled to take place.
