Soccer: Romania’s group matches calendar in the EC 2012 preliminaries

The first match of Romania’s national soccer team will be against Albania, at home, on September 3, 2010, in the D Group preliminaries of the European Soccer Championship 2012, according to the calendar established on Friday, in Luxembourg, by the representatives of the six federations.

On September 7, 2010, Romania will play against Belarus and on October 9 against France, both matches being played away from home. The national soccer team coached by Razvan Lucescu will end the current qualification campaign with Albania, away from home, on October 22, 2011.

The Luxembourg discussions, attended by the Romanian Soccer Federation representatives, ie general manager Ioan Angelo Lupescu, national team’s coach Răzvan Lucescu and sports manager Daniel Prodan, lasted four hours and a half, says the Romanian Soccer Federation. The calendar of Romania’s matches in the D Group is the following:

September 3: Romania-Albania
September 7: Belarus-Romania
October 9: France-Romania


March 26: Bosnia and Herzegovina-Romania March 29: Romania-Luxembourg
June 3: Romania-Bosnia and Herzegovina September 2: Luxembourg-Romania
September 6: Romania-France
October 7: Romania-Belarus
October 11: Albania-Romania
