PM Boc sends condolences to family of Romanian soldier killed in Afghanistan

Prime Minister Emil Boc sent on Tuesday a condolence message over the death of Sergeant-Major Florin Badiceanu, killed in action in Afghanistan, the Government Press Office reports.

“I have sadly and regretfully learned that young Romanian Sergeant-Major Florin Badiceanu, within 33rd Manoeuvering Batallion, lost his life during a patrolling mission performed in the theatre of operations in Afghanistan. I express my respect to our soldier’s sacrifice, who honourably fell on duty, I pay homage to his memory and we will not forget his sacrifice.

I send my sincere compassion to the family struck by such tragedy,” Boc says. At the same time, the prime minister assures the injured soldier of all the Romanian Government’s support: “I assure Private Marian Zamfir, a fellow soldier of Seargent Badiceanu who was injured on the same mission, of all the appreciation he enjoys from the Romanian Government and I wish him to get well soon.”
