Romanian Gov’t reports deficit for January

The aggregate budget deficit of the Romanian Government started in January, with 0.03 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), according to preliminary data with the Finance Ministry, state secretary with the Finance Ministry Gheorghe Gherghina reported on Wednesday.

In the previous years, the Romanian Government would usually report budget surpluses. The Finance Ministry is expected to release on Thursday final information regarding the Budget implementation in January 2010. The 2010 aggregate deficit target is set at 5.9 percent of the GDP.
