PM Boc proposes a final debate on Danube Strategy in November, in Bucharest

Premier Emil Boc proposed on Thursday representatives of the states involved in the Danube Strategy to meet in November, in Bucharest, for a final discussion prior to the adoption of this document by the European Council.

“For this strategy to become efficient I addressed the invitation for a final debate and approach in November, in Bucharest, a pragmatic one, focused on concrete points, prior to its approval and debate by the European Council, most likely in December”, said Emil Boc.

The Executive’s head suggested during the meeting several concrete projects focused on the implementation of the Danube Strategy, namely high-speed train services beyond Paris-Strasbourg route, extended to Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava, Bucharest, Constanta, modernization of the Danube ports and afferent infrastructure, projects in the field of environment protection, education.

PM Emil Boc takes part on Thursday in the Danube Strategy Summit, organized in Budapest, the meeting occasioning a dialogue between the European Commission and representatives of the involved countries’ governments, as well as business and academic circles, international organizations.
