Romanian-French partnership in education field continues

Minister of Education, Research, Youth and Sport Daniel Petru Funeriu has met on Thursday France’s Ambassador to Bucharest Henry Paul, the two officials underlining the good cooperation between the two countries in the education field and to examine the joint interest projects that got under way, MECTS informs in a release.

According to the quoted source, the main subject was the relaunch of the French-Romanian partnership and emphasis on the Francophonie role in the education field, as well as the expediting procedures for mutual recognition and equivalence of diplomas. Other approached subjects were the organization of the baccalaureat in French language and the construction of the French Lyceum in Baneasa zone.

In the field of research Henri Paul appreciated Romania’s participation in the Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI) project and agreed with its inclusion into the bilateral strategic partnership.
The French Ambassador voiced full support for the Romanian-Hungarian initiative to have a common policy at the European Union level in the education field for Roma population. To this end, the French side wishes to cooperate with Romania in order to lay out a roadmap on the Roma inclusion till the start of the EU second summit.
