Code yellow advisory for rain in 11 counties

The National Meteorology Administration on Friday issued a code yellow advisory for heavy precipitation, valid for 11 counties in south-western Romania.

According to the advisory, on Saturday, between 3:00 am and 6:00 pm (local time), in Banat (western Romania), Crisana (western Romania), Oltenia (southern Romania) and north-western Muntenia (south-western Romania) the water quantities will locally exceed 20 litres/square metre and, in places, 25-30 litres/square metre.

The 11 counties subject to the code yellow advisory are: Bihor, Arad, Timisoara (all of them in western Romania), Hunedoara (central Romania), Calarasi (southern Romania), Mehedinti (south¬western Romania), Gorj, Valcea, Arges, Dambovita and Dolj (all of them in southern Romania). In the mountains, precipitation will take the form of sleet and snowfalls, while the wind will display temporary intensification especially in the mountains and in the south-western part of the territory.
