Unemployment up 0.06pc in March 2010

Unemployment in Romania stood at 8.36 percent in March 2010, compared with 8.30 percent in February 2010 and 5.60 percent in March 2009, according to data released by the National Employment Agency (ANOFM).

Total unemployed registered with the county employment agencies stood at 765,285, 314,330 of whom were women. Out of the total unemployed nationwide, 462,289 were on unemployment benefits and 302,996 were not drawing such benefits. Unemployment among women stood at 7.43 percent.
