PM Boc: The first advantages of economic growth will be steered toward people on low wages or pensions
From here we will start a sound economic reconstruction in the wage and pension systems of Romania. I know that for you, the Opposition, it would have been easier for the Government to be unable to pay the pensions and wages and for the country to default on such payments,’ Boc told the Opposition MPs on Tuesday before a vote on a motion of censure against the Government tabled by the alliance of the opposition Social Democratic Party and the Conservative Party (PSD+PC).
Amidst booing and hollering from the Opposition MPs, who were claiming for his dismissal, Boc reiterated that the Government is trying to protect the people on small pensions, using the limited resources at its disposal.
‘The Government is cleaning up the mess now. We have started with luxury pensions, which we discarded despite the hardships and the contrary opinions coming from the Opposition. And we will continue to clean up the government agencies, sort out public spending and adjust the number of public employees, because we have the courage to do it,’ said Boc.
