Interior Minister Blaga: Three people died, 104 localities got under water

The floods of the past days in Romania have left three people dead and 104 localities under water, Minister of Administration and Interior Vasile Blaga told prefects at a videoconference on Wednesday that discussed the flood situation in the country.

He mentioned that the central county of Alba, where 18 localities were hit and one people died, and the central county of Cluj, where 13 localities got under water and two people died, were the most affected areas. Abundant rainfall has generated troubles for 28 of Romania’s 41 counties. Currently, there are 148 people evacuated for short time to areas where water rose but there was no danger of flooding proper.
