Code Yellow rain advisory extended
The National Meteorology Administration (ANM) extended on Tuesday morning the Code Yellow rain advisory by yet another 24 h.
According to weather experts, starting Tuesday, 9:00 a.m., till Wednesday 9:00 a.m., rainfall rates in the center and north of Moldova (eastern Romania) and in the Eastern Carpathians, the mountain areas of Maramures (north), Bistrita-Nasaud (north), Mures (center) and Harghita (center) will stay considerably high, exceeding locally 25 liters per square meter and even 50 liters per square meter in particular spots.
The Code Yellow heavy rain advisory refers to 10 counties: Maramures, Bistrita-Nasaud, Mures, Harghita, Suceava (north-east), Neamt (east), Bacau (east), Botosani (northeast), Iasi (east), Vaslui (east). ANM warned that other country regions too will register atmospheric instability on narrower areas. The ANM initial 24-h Code Yellow rain advisory was effective as of Monday morning, 9.00 a.m., till Tuesday at 9:00 a.m., for the eastern and northeastern part of the country.
