Motion of no-confidence text is to be drafted and made public on October 11, announced on Monday the President of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Crin Antonescu.
„We insisted on speeding up all actions aimed at replacing the current government. During this week we will finalize the no-confidence motion text. Next Monday (October 11 – editor’s note) it will be drafted and made public,” said Antonescu, after meeting leaders of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), Conservative Party (PC) and other Liberal officials at the Palace of Parliament.
According to the PNL leader, the no-confidence motion is to include, besides criticism of the government, the essential elements of a crisis Government program. He said that, if the motion has chances of success, the opposition will be able to present the next day a common solution, a joint ruling formula, the expression of a new majority”.
Asked if there were discussions with UDMR on the sidelines of that motion, PNL leader said that the opposition is open and will continue to have a dialogue with MPs and political formations.
In his turn, PSD president, Victor Ponta, said that Monday, October 11, the Opposition leaders will reconvene to approve the no-confidence motion, set to also include the measures the crisis government is going to implement.
As concerns the crisis government’s premier, Ponta said that the following evening after the adoption of the no-confidence motion the best solution for Romania will be found, and not one for PSD, or for PNL.
PC President Daniel Constantin said that the most important part of the no-confidence motion is the second one, where the anti-crisis measures will be presented, which the new Government has to apply even at its first meeting. He added that, if the no-confidence motion passes, the three parties will come up with a common candidate for the Premiership position. „There is an agreement in this regard,” said Constantin.
